Austin Crockett Bennet-Elder Peace Studies December 6, 2009 Solving the Problem: Haiti As a living, breathing, individual, there be authorized rights that I deserve. on that point are certain(p) rights that are granted to me unspoiled for the plain fact that I am a person with true(a) feelings, real hopes, real dreams, and real desires for a happy and easy life. I recall that in my life I have been fortunate enough to experience freedom; I realize been fortunate enough to experience what it is like to abide with certain expectations of what my rights should be, and will be. I scum bag also plead that as an American male, who has never known anything but freedom, I very much take this wonderful blessing for granted. I often eat up that there is more to the origination than my home here in Valdosta, Georgia. I forget that actually, in more cases than not, the freedoms I sleep together here are scarce around the world. I’m even sometimes blind to see the peak damage that goes on only on the other side of town. I admit I often springy in evenhandedly of a bubble. except I can’t stay on to live out my life, turning a blind optic either time I see injustice and suffering. I believe that as a person who enjoys my rights as a kind-hearted, it is my human duty to do all that I can to garter those who are in ingest.

One place that is “in need” is the terra firma of Haiti. One of the Millennium Development Goals that we talked nigh is to “eradicate extreme poverty and hunger.” Unfortunately Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, and the three hu! ngriest country in the world. In Haiti, the clean life forethought is 52 for women and 48 for men. Unemployment is nearly 70 % and 85% of Haitians live on less than one U.S. dollar bill a day. I believe that it definitely is a country in need.
